“I LOVE YOU MADLY” is an intimate look into the idea of self fulfilled love.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
While I walked the grounds of Versailles, my heart felt heavy - thinking of the tormented love stories laced throughout the palace and gardens. I thought about Marie Antoinette and Count Fersen, their forbidden love haunting the halls, and I wondered - would she have been happier alone? Could she have given herself the love, the passion, that he brought into her life - all on her own? Would it have saved her if she had?
It resinated deeply within me as I reflected on my own past experiences in love. Romance in my life has so often left me disappointed and longing for more, so with this series I decided to look inward - and explore the notion of being my own true love.
Asking myself, what have I really been seeking, why haven’t I found it - and could I provide that for myself? Why am I waiting for someone else to love me deeply, to shower me with praise and desire, when possibly self fulfilled love could be what I’ve been needing all along…
In this series you’ll see nine views from my time in Versailles, each paired with a poem or love letter where I try to bring to life the love I’ve been searching for. Instead of waiting for these words from someone else - I wrote them for myself. Ever questioning if it’s self love that is the truest love of all.
