A series of VIEWS from California, captured over a decade.
Growing up on the west coast gave me my first great love in life - the ocean. It’s hard to describe how I feel about this vast beautiful body of water, with it’s never ending mysteries she is an incomparable force of nature that when I’m near everything else in my mind goes silent. She makes me feel calm in a way I’ve never felt from anything else, it’s this feeling laced with empathy and an essence of “feeling seen”. I never felt alone when I am with her and I relate to her personal ways, to her vast depth, her silence, to her constant overflow of emotion.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
“VIEWS” is an ongoing series exploring the transient nature of reality and perseverance within solitude. It’s the action of watching the clouds silently track time against the blank canvas of the sky, and the blossoms unapologetically devour branches. Baring witness to buildings sitting calmly waiting in the absence of people, and the ocean dancing with intuition. These are the views where I listen to the stillness that surrounds me, sometimes she is bursting forward with a scream, sometimes she whispers softly as I pass her by. These are the moments where calmness meets drive, where I can hear deep breaths of life, along with heavy sighs.
